The first job search is the one no one teaches. College prepares students to earn a degree, but not always to turn that degree into a career. Before creating First Act Advising, I spent 20 years in sales and business development working with VP-level and C-suite decision-makers. That experience shaped my approach: understand your audience, communicate your value, tell a compelling story and know how to close. A successful job search works much the same way.
Over the past two years, I have advised over 150 clients on search strategy, LinkedIn positioning, ATS-friendly resumes, networking and interviewing.
